Noosa Food and Wine Festival

Book your  room and pack your bags,  Noosa has got a show lined up for you that you won't want to miss!

The Audi Noosa Food and Wine Festival from April 30 to May 2 has a stellar line up with lunches, masterclasses and food trails.

According to Jim Berardo who started the festival seven years ago there will be plenty of famous faces in singlets and shorts walking the streets of Noosa. Jim says this is a festival that promotes the producers as much as the food and chefs and looking at the line up of ingredients I can only agree.

What am I looking forward to?  On Friday there's a Top Tastes of Queensland lunch combining Queensland's top produce with nine top Queensland wines and six top Queensland chefs.  Think Philip Johnson, Ryan Squires, Nick Holloway, Brad Jolly, Meyjitte Boughenout and Lizzie Loel with wines presented by Tony Harper.

Unfortunately I can't be in two places at once or I'd also be lining up for the Tastes of Iberica lunch that takes your taste buds around Spain and Portugal.  There's even flamenco music. The chefs are Matt McConnell and Pablo Tordesillas from Ortiga (love his food!).

The Noosa Afloat Tour is a great day on the Noosa River.  I've done this one and would recommend it as a wonderful afternoon.

Highlight of the festival has to be The Great Australian French Degustation.  It's an eight course degustation with matching wines with a wonderfull line up of local and interstate chefs.

On Saturday I'd like to take in the Queensland Cheese Exhibition -  a taste fest of great cheeses. There's also some interesting talks on sustainable produce, the Masterchef phenomenon and Margarita Magic - a sensational masterclass on a range of tequilas.

The Great Critics Cook Off, which is normally held on Sunday, will this year be held on Saturday as well as too many of the critics have to head back south for the Logis.

On Sunday there are more food and wine tastings and celebrity chef cooking demos and another great degustation, this time with an Italian theme.

Here's a tip - if you buy your tickets before April 1 there's a 10% discount.
