Free cooking lessons at Ginger Flower and Food Festival

Kick-start a healthy heart at the Ginger Flower & Food Festival from January 20 to 23, with a raft of free cooking demonstrations for serious foodies from some of the Sunshine Coast’s top chefs, together with exclusive master classes. 

South African cuisine guru, Matilda Scarfe will share some of her flavour-filled secrets, learn French culinary tips and professional secrets from Michelin-starred Chef Eric Van Alphen, discover Aki Kitabitake’s easy peasy Japanese style and Master gardener Colin Campbell  will show you how to DIY organic veggies. Plus Sydney Seafood Cooking School instructor and garden2kitchen guru, Julie Ray, will whip up gourmet delights from a mystery box of Sunshine Coast produce.

Now in its 16th year, the Ginger Flower & Food Festival is held in fragrant surrounds of the Ginger Factory, home of Buderim Ginger at Yandina, just 20 minutes from Noosa.

Friday
10.00am GROW IT, COOK IT, EAT IT… all you need to know to take your homegrown produce into the kitchen and onto the table with this presentation from garden2kitchen duo, Phil Dudman and Julie Ray.
11.00am EROLLIE… OLLERIK… WHATEVER! Put these two together in the kitchen and it’s just plain YUM! Erik Van Alphen and Olivier Maokhamphieu (Ollie) team up in a whirlwind display of classic French training and cutting edge gourmet flair.
12noon SEAFOOD AND COOK IT. Sydney Seafood Cooking School instructor and garden2kitchen guru, Julie Ray, whips up gourmet delights from a mystery box of Sunshine Coast produce.
1.30pm 5 STAR SIGNATURE STYLE with professional skills and tips from Olivier Maokhamphieu, Australia’s Master of fusion cuisine and the Sunshine Coast’s hottest new culinary star.
