Easter at Vanilla Pod, Ascot


It doesn't just have to be chocolate and more chocolate at Easter as these cake pops and cupcakes from Vanilla Pod at Ascot prove.

Carla at Vanilla Pod has launched cake pops for Easter in what she believes is a first for Brisbane. These are hugely popular in America and tipped to overtake cupcakes.  Have you seen them elsewhere?

While these are very cute little treats I still think cupcakes have the edge, though cake pops are an excellent choice for children's parties.



Carla's cake pops are delicious bite-sized balls of moist cake handmade and rolled are double dipped into a bath of white chocolate, decorated and served on a lollipop stick. Their Easter range includes gluten free chicks, vanilla bunny ears and chocolate eggs. ($6.95 each or $49 for a set of five packaged in a quaint handmade timber Easter basket).




There's also special Easter cupcakes and a 'hot cross' cupcake. ($4.95 or $25 box of 6)
