Lunch on who?

 Queensland is taking you to lunch this week!

Well, I should explain the fine points here - we are coming up to the time of the year when Queensland is the nation's food bowl.  In case you havn't noticed, it gets cold down south in winter and the plants don't grow so quickly. In Queensland we have lots of sun and plants that love the cooler winter temperatures - works a treat in the veggie patch.

So some clever people (looking at you Alison Alexander) decided to come up with the Lunch on Q concept where restaurants offer a Queensland-themed menu and a glass of local wine at a set price of $35 - bargain!

The good thing is that it's actually two weeks of lunching June 4 to 17 and here's what you can enjoy -

  • Yellow curry of North Queensland prawns
  • Lockyer Valley pumpkin, snake beans and kaffir lime leaves
  • Mooloolaba spanner crab linguini with Glasshouse hinterland zucchini flowers, chilli, lemon and parsley;
  • Kilcoy beef cheeks, red vegetable puree, green beans and fried breadcrumbs;
  • Vanilla bean panna cotta with pineapple and Buderim ginger compote with almond tuile;
  • Yandina ginger pudding with Stanthorpe poached pear and anglaise.

And much more...

Lunch on Q is being offered at 21 restaurants across South East Queensland including Customs House, Tank and Jellyfish.
