Food dreams – Jonah and the whales

On a recent visit from Sydney, P1 told me about a place where I had to dine and stay.

It’s really worth it he said and when I saw these photos I understood why.

Located high on the cliff tops overlooking picturesque Whale Beach on Sydney’s northern beaches, Jonah’s Restaurant and Boutique Hotel, a Relais & Chateaux property, offers jaw-dropping views from stylishly appointed rooms, award winning cuisine and an extensive wine cellar.

They have four new gourmet-themed dine-and-stay packages with accommodation in one of 11 Ocean Retreat rooms as well as indulgent extras such as in-room spa treatments and Molton Brown amenities.  Prices range around $550 to $600 for a very special night of eating and sleeping.

Jonah’s is a leisurely 45 minute drive or a spritely 20 minute seaplane flight from Sydney

Spanish-born Executive Chef Alfonso Ales matches seasonal, local produce with global influences, complemented by an impressive list of more than 1000 wines developed by German-born Sommelier Christian Baeppler.
