Cafeine, Coorparoo

I don't know the south side of Brisbane as well as I would like so I find it hard to discover those little coffee gems that you need to keep you going for the long haul.

It was a long drive for us down to Capalaba to select some tiles for our new house.  Thankfully the mission was successful and I found the most beautiful mosaics for our bathroom niches.

Cruising back to find more bathroom supplies we drove what seemed the entire length of Old Cleveland Road without finding a place to stop for coffee and lunch but a turn into Cavendish Road reveals Cafeine.

My heart soared at it's clean bright red and white exterior and the glass cabinet filled with house made goodies including quiche and muffins inside was the icing on the cake. There was a reasonable range of sandwichs/rolls on display which were hot pressed to order.

I chose a date and banana muffin. It was heavy, which was not unexpected, but could have used a warm up. K2's chicken sandwich filling tasted home roasted. The coffee is Di Bella and was well made.

Cafeine has recently had a refresh and repaint and the staff are friendly.

Bottom line - a pleasant find with low key but stylish decor
