New mag for Brisbane foodies

Imagine your fave food blogs in print - well it's coming to a cafe near you!

Gram Brisbane is launching at the end of March with a compilation of Brisbane food and drink blogs, all marked with scan tags so you can launch into the sites with your smart phone.

Following the success of Gram Melbourne about 13 months ago, the magazine’s publisher Prime Creative Media decided to give Brisbane's foodies the same treat - a free monthly publication dedicated to promoting food and drink culture. I'm chuffed to be included in the first edition!

“Gram has been embraced by foodies throughout Melbourne, with more and more bloggers contacting the magazine to see how they can become involved. This can also be seen through our strong Twitter and Facebook following, which has continued to increase exponentially,” said Gram Editor, Danielle Gullaci.

“We believe it is now the right time to expand this publication into an entirely new market and Brisbane is the next step. Brisbane foodies will now have a publication that focuses solely on food and drinks within their city.”

Each issue of Gram features a compilation of food and drink based blogs. These aim to provide a snapshot of the articles, opinions and reviews that have been written by local food bloggers.

This magazine is truly interactive, allowing readers to easily switch between print and web. The use of the ‘scan tag’ iPhone application lets readers link directly to the blogger’s webpage by scanning the printed barcode with their phone’s camera.

Gram’s chosen tag platform is the Microsoft Tag Reader. In addition to reading Microsoft scan tags, this application now includes a QR Code Scanner and an NFC tag reader for NFC tags.

The magazine also has a unique distribution model, with 20,000 copies of each issue distributed to over 1000 restaurants, cafés, bars and food outlets around the city and surrounding suburbs. This has proved to be highly effective in Melbourne and will now also apply to Brisbane.
