Cheap eats – Baguette’s platter menus

January and February are quiet months in the restaurant business but the entrepreneurial owners of Baguette at Ascot, Marilyn and Francis Domenech have their own solution – a Mediterranean platter dinner menu with three courses for $39.

The entree, main course and dessert are all served on large platters and you help yourselves, just like the French do when entertaining. It would be great with a group of friends.

Baguette has been around for years, always serving good food with good service. The recently revamped décor is pleasing and there’s a bar area at the front for a casual drink before you start the serious business of eating.

Each week, up until 25 February, there’s a different Mediterranean cuisine Monday to Thursday night.
