Salt, Rosalie, Brisbane

Cold weather caused an appetite explosion last night and we headed down to an old favourite, Salt in Rosalie, for dessert.

It was also an opportunity to catch up with number one son who is the night manager. Congratulations Xander!

Our deliberations on the dessert menu were noted and a tasting plate was suggested and eagerly accepted.  When it arrived you should have heard the envy from the table next door - wow it looked good.

It was a job to eat though but we managed fairly well.  I loved the creamy, custard filled profiteroles with chocolate sauce and the crispy caramel topping on the fig and brandy pudding.  The chocolate brownie had a deep chocolate flavour and the mars bar creme brulee - well what can you say about a combo of mars bar and creme brulee except bring it on! We also had a strawberry panacotta but that's the last of them as there's been a menu change.

The menu change also comes with a new char grill which will put a smile on the face of steak lovers.  Look for aged Victorian eye fillet, Wagyu rump, Koonawarra Koorong Angus sirloin and OP Rib on the bone.
