Calling all Brisbane Food Lovers! Fancy some Mooloolaba prawns, Bethonga pineapple, free range Mount Cotton chicken breast or North Queensland reef fish matched with fine Queensland wine?
Some of the state’s leading chefs will serve up farmed, fresh and fabulous Queensland produce as part of the two week Lunch on Q dining experience that begins today, Monday 7 March until 20 March.
Brisbane’s restaurateurs will join forces to celebrate the abundance, diversity and quality of Queensland produce, which was badly impacted by the recent floods and cyclone.
Queensland Chef and Restaurant Two’s David Pugh said Lunch on Q would make restaurants and hospitality venues the focal point to reunite people and restore some normality to Brisbane’s dining scene.
“Every person you speak to has been either touched directly or indirectly by the local floods,” Mr Pugh said.
“Lunch on Q is the perfect way to bring friends back together to share great food and wine.
“Most importantly, it will give primary producers some comfort in the knowledge that funds raised through the purchase of Queensland food and wine for the event will go into their businesses.”
Restaurant Two’s Lunch on Q menu includes grilled reef fish with smoked corn, Coominya olives, tomato salsa and tempura Landsborough zucchini flower followed by passionfruit soufflé or Queensland farmhouse cheeses and a glass of Robert Channon or Hidden Creek wine.
The event is the brainchild of Food Consultant Alison Alexander.
“Diners will be able to enjoy the best of Queensland’s food and wine at a range of inner city Brisbane restaurants, which will prepare two courses and a glass of Queensland wine for $35 for two weeks,” Ms Alexander said.
