As expected, Ed+bK Bar Reporter Alexander Stone did the rounds of Woodford’s many bars. It’s a tough job reporting from the trenches but Alexander did it with a smile.
Here’s what he found at Woodford, 2013 -
I'm at Woodford with New Year’s Eve almost upon us again, checking all the brand spanking new and old bars on offer.
There's been a recent investment in opening some new and different bars. Coming in the main entrance you'll first spot the Orchard Bar (Woodford's new cider bar) looking like a giant wooded apple crate. It’s a great place to escape the sun or rain and watch anything on at the concert stage with a tasty cider.
If you’re stuck for a beer during the day, check out the Coopers Bar. Located in the middle of the festival with nice breezy outdoor seating makes it a perfect spot to put your feet up and relax a bit. It’s a great place to cool off and bring in some food for lunch or to escape the rain/wife/kids.
Bill’s Bar (opening image) is the talk of the festival this year with a some nice solid seating if you’re looking for somewhere a little more traditional to drink. When we went there for a cheeky beer we were lucky enough to see a Eurovision contestant performing live on ABC radio.
My favourite so far though, has been Quench Your Curiosity behind the Grande stage It’s easy to spot with its giant neon sign. There were lots of Bundaberg cocktails on offer but we voted the Light and Crunchy as our pick. It’s got Bundaberg white rum and a light refreshing apple cider which takes the sting out of the heat.
We've also been camping this trip and I've got to say it’s the nicest festival camping experience I've ever had. With 26,000 volunteers around to help out it's easy to find your way around, the spirit of the festival is amazing too with a real feeling of community in the camping area. We've made lots of friends (Hi Chloe!).
Tonight for New Year’s Eve I'll be investigating the Bohemia bar so come and say hello if you see me.
Sorry I’m late with posting this Alexander and I hope you had a great New Year’s Eve. By the way, who is Chloe?
