Sunday saw me on the back of K2's motor bike heading down to Brisbane's Bayside for a late brekky at one of our fave easy spots, Seafood Lovers Cafe on Margate Parade, Margate.
On the way home we followed the shoreline searching for new dining options and enjoying the scenery. It was a top day to be outside with cool temperatures and clear blue skies.
In Sinbad Street, Shorncliffe we came across a street full of creek side fish vendors selling their catch straight from the boat. There's no shortage of seafood on the bay but it's special when you can buy it direct from the trawler and talk to the fisherman who caught it.
We stopped and had a chat with the husband and wife team running the Sapphire. They told me the trawler goes out most weekdays, operated by the husband and son, and they are there selling their produce from Wednesday to Sunday. The prawns looked good and the prices were reasonable. Unfortunately I wasn't able to buy any of the tiger prawns on offer because we were on the bike.
Even if you are not in the market for trawler fresh prawns, it's a lovely drive through Shorncliffe.
