Washing water surf sent us away from the sand at Sunshine Beach this weekend in search of gastronomic pleasures.
We didn’t have to go far as Noosa is just a skip up the road. We could even take a bus straight from our front door to Hastings Street but that seemed a little drastic when we had a perfectly good car at hand.
In under 10 minutes we had found a park on Hastings Street (a rare treasure) and were seated for breakfast in Season.
Although I’ve been to Noosa more times that I can remember, for some strange reason I’ve never dined at Season. After this breakfast experience, I will seek to redress this imbalance.
I left the restaurant with the sort of satisfied feeling that comes from a very good feed. It wasn’t an overly generous serve – just enough to fill the gap with a little more – but the flavour was fulsome.
Boasting superb views over Noosa’s Main Beach, Season offers some of the best beachfront dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week.

Our choices were bacon & eggs (poached or scrambled) with chilli jam & toast ($16) and corn bread with smoked salmon, asparagus, avocado salsa & watercress ($16). Topped with a generous serve of smoked salmon, the corn bread was dense and moist.
Next time I might be tempted by the buttermilk pancakes, palm sugar butter, pecans and maple syrup, plus banana but our late breakfast start meant the 30 minutes this dish takes was not an option for my hungry stomach.

Despite a busy, crowded restaurant, the food came in good time and the service was professional.
Season is situated in the heart of Hastings Street in the Tingirana Building, directly opposite the Sheraton Noosa Resort (just cross the pedestrian crossing and take the walkway through to the beach and we are on the right hand side)
